Hey friends,
How many times you have ticked off all the to dos on your list.
Here is the thing,
I don’t use traditional to do list.
Life is full of uncertainties, and we don’t know them and that’s why we aren’t usually able tick of all of them leaving us unsatisfied and stressed out.
To tackle this problem for any goal that is input-based and time bound, I use A-B-C Goal system popularized by Sahil Bloom. It basically gives you another target if you aren’t on top of things which you usually won’t be.
See…
Humans have tendency to see things in binary perspective.
The goal is either hit or missed.
The day was either success or failure.
You either won the game or lost it.
So, once our only goal is out of sight, we have nothing to drive us forward. We consider we have failed, and we feel bad but if we have a B Goal and a C Goal, we always have something to keep you pushing.
Here’s how to do it…
For any input-based goal which is time bound set three levels.
· A Goal: This like best case scenario.
· B Goal: Middle ground. (Most Days You Will Hit This)
· C Goal: Minimum Viable Goal (On Bad Days You’ll Hit This)
A-B-C Goal system on Work
It’s past my bedtime. I’m brushing my teeth before I go to sleep. I have spent entire day binge watching lookism which my friend was suggesting for months now. I haven’t done any writing. My A goal to complete writing article and polishing and publishing the one wrote a day before, was far beyond my means. B goal: Polishing and publishing the one I wrote the day before also isn’t possible but my C goal; To reply to some of the tweets and do two to three of them is possible, So I do that. I make progress.
This A-B-C goal System also Removes any guilt.
As far as you are hitting your C goal.
You Are Making Progress.
Life is like a bucket load of uncertainties; this makes sticking to a schedule even more daunting perhaps that meeting took longer than you expected or maybe you just weren’t feeling like wanting to do what you intended to do. Here is my method on how I manage to stick to schedule. It’ll work even if you aren’t disciplined enough.
That’s all for today,
Have a great Week!
~ Abd Sid
PS: the story is true, happened to me yesterday (as of writing this).
PPS: Btw it was just my writing goal of the day.
Weakly Highlight
I
The love wager was on my kindle for months now and I couldn’t get myself around reading it but the recently I taped into the book, and I was really enjoying it and ended up reading it completely in 24 hours. It is the third book I read under 24 hours other being Tessa and Weston’s The best charismas ever and Check & Mate. Also, it was the first adult romance novel I liked. I am not adult (Age 16) but I like being Ahead of my age in everything.
II
I spent rest of the weak designing banners for my twitter account. I am not good designing at all, but this came out pretty well. I wanted it to look professional but also add to my bio. I actually am planning on writing on X more often because that’s getting the most engagements. Don’t forget to Follow me for daily dose of productivity nuggets @imabdsid
III
It was fairly unproductive week for me considering I didn’t get much work stuff done (I hit C Goal on my weakly goal) given that all I wanted to do was to read novels and watch movies and chat to my newly made online friend for hours. It’s actually fun to chat to someone who you don’t know but shares a lot of your interests and perspectives on things. She is also a self-published YA author, and I was glad to know I wasn’t the only writer who was terrible at spellings.

Your second one begins when you realize you’ve only got one.”
