In Today’s Fast past and internet crazy world most of our spare time is stolen by endless feeds of social media.
But here's the thing - those little free moments we do have? They're pretty important. We could be doing stuff that makes us feel good and even helps us get more done.
So, when we start squeezing these awesome tasks into our day, we're basically sprinkling our whole day with good vibes and a sense of achievement. And trust me, this can totally change how you see your day and how much you get done.
The cool part? These tasks usually only take about five minutes. But don't let that fool you. Each one is a chance to look after yourself and grow, making your life that bit better and giving your productivity a kick.
Write a Thankyou Note.
Turns out, saying thank you is pretty good for your brain. It helps you think positive and makes you happier. Maybe to the barista who always gets your coffee just right, or your neighbors who waters your plants when you’re away.
It takes a minute or two to write a thank-you note but not only makes their day but also gives your mood a boost and bring in some sense positivity and gratitude in your life. Throwing in a cute doodle or something personal, like a smiley coffee cup or a leaf, makes it even better.
In My Opinion There’s two type of thanks.
Genuine Thanks.
Thanks, Of formality.
And most of the times it’s thanks of formality that people give.
For Example,
When someone gives you a gift on your birthday or serves you dinner, you are obliged to say thanks and mostly it’s out of habit and even recipient’s brain tends to ignore them or at least they’ll say Welcome out of habit.
So When you Receive a Thankyou note out of the blue or when you are expecting it the least can really make much of a difference. And that’s the thankyou that really counts.
Catch Up with Loved Ones:
With all the craziness of life, sometimes we forget to keep in touch with the people we care about.
It might seem ok on the surface but it’s not so good for your emotional health . A quick call to a family member, a text to an old friend, or even a letter to someone special can do the trick. It's an easy way to make your relationships stronger and make your day a whole lot better.
I like to have bunch of reminders to call the people who I care about and The frequency depends person to person.
Some of you might even say that One shouldn’t need a reminder to catch up with loved ones but well in age of social media you do.
Go for a Walk
Going for a walk is an easy way to make yourself feel better and get those creative juices flowing. Just a walk, no strings attached, If you can do it in nature, nothing will top that. if not, a quick walk around block is just as effective.
Also, whenever it’s like a bad day, I try to sneak in a quick walk and not only it boosts my energy levels, but it also helps me focus better. You can say Going for a walk is like Antidote to procrastination for me.
And for the sake of God, don’t bring your energy vampire with you Aka your damn phone if you are not planning on listing music. I usually don’t listen to music on my walks because I’m usually listening to songs while I’m working so it’s nice to have some quiet space.
Tidy Up Your Space:
You don’t have to be a neat freak to clean your room, I’m not but still I declutter my room twice a week. It’s just nice to have a clean environment to work at and I’m less likely to procrastinate.
Your Environment affects your mood
For I have a simple equation in Mind.
Tidy environment = Tidy brain = Improves focus.
Bonus Points if you found your Favorite sock you’ve been looking for ages. winks
Listen to a Podcast or Read a Book:
Sometimes, we all just need some peace and quiet, and that's okay. Enjoy these quiet times.
Find a comfy spot in your home, your own peaceful place where you can relax without being disturbed. You might want to listen to a podcast or read a book. This is not just a great way to relax and take a break from everyday life, but it's also a chance to learn something new or get lost in a different world for a bit.
The goal here is to enrich your life and boost your well-being in your leisure time and not jam-pack your day with activities until you're overwhelmed. Use your free time wisely. Engage in activities that make you happy, contribute to your growth, and make you feel good about yourself.
Have a great week!
